Soon you’ll notice some changes to your organization’s Petfinder account. This will be the first of many changes we have planned to make Petfinder a stronger tool for our shelters and rescue group members and the adoptable animals in your care.
We will be bringing you, our members, along with us on these changes. Our goal is to be transparent and responsive to our members' needs. Keep an eye on the “Announcements” section here in our Help Center as we will be sharing upcoming plans, providing support and encouraging your feedback throughout.
We’ve updated the look and feel of your organization’s Petfinder account to help streamline current features, as well as make adding and editing your pet listings easier and faster. Some changes of note:
Add and edit pet listings more easily. We’re slimming down the add and edit a pet process, down from 5 steps to just 2.
The “Organization & Home Page” option in the navigation will be called “Organization Profile”. This only changes the name in the menu. You can edit your Petfinder homepage just as you have in the past.
Listing history on your pets is currently limited to recently made edits
Statistics will temporarily appear as blurred out while we improve this tool. They will return shortly!
Templates – We’re working to make templates a stronger tool for posting pets. As we continue our work here, the add and edit function for templates will be unavailable. If you have feedback on templates, please share it with us.
The “Read Only” contact permission level will be merged with the “No Access” contact permission level. There is no action needed on your part.
Events will be retired.
We have launched a Release Notes page to provide you with a more detailed description of each planned Petfinder release. This will be a living document of past and future changes to our site, please be sure to visit it for further details.
Why The Changes?
We have completely rebuilt the platform that is the home to your Petfinder account. We’ve done this in order to build new tools for our members better and much faster than we have in the past. We recognize that your needs are changing and we want to move quickly with you to meet those needs.
We started with upgrading the adding and editing pets portion of your account, as it is most often used.

We want to know what you think of updates to our site and welcome your honest feedback. You can share feedback with us in a couple different ways. Click the “Feedback” tab on the right hand side of the Petfinder Pro homepage or within your Petfinder account. We read every single submission. Or, you’re welcome to contact us directly with any feedback.
We are always looking for Petfinder members who would be willing to participate in feedback panels and/or concept testing for potential new site features. If you would like to possibly participate in a future feedback session, please register!
